springs replacement help
Saturday I replaced my front coil springs and ball joints on both sides , took it out for a test drive and i am getting a clunk sound on the right side only when i hit a bump , and when i push down on the right fender hard and the truck goes up and down i get the clunk sound in the drive way as well
i have not had the front end aligned yet if that matters the right spring feels tight in the pocket , but ??????? (2 wheel drive truck)

On both ends, top and bottom. Can you get it in the air and look while the suspension has weight on it? Maybe driving ramps or place jack stands near the ball joints on the lower control arms. Yes an alignment is always needed when replacing suspension parts but I don't think it will fix your problem. You can also get some white trace powder and put it on the springs and see if they are actually rubbing. |

Re: springs replacement help
well when i take it in to get the alignment done , i will have them check it out and go over everything while i am there, i am sure it is just the spring needs to be reset in the hole, just don't have time this week or weekend to get to it

Re: springs replacement help
yes nuts on top, i always install fasteners that way so I can see of the nut vibrates off , or comes loose over time

hmm i think i did mine the other way... I never saw anything about nuts up in the instruction manual lol. If they are tight why does it matter?

It does not matter which way the nuts are facing up or down. The nuts will not interfere with anything either way. If they are tight, it does not matter. |

Re: springs replacement help
I've heard they will hit the grease boot and rip it.
