Good reference item = Catalog

I am always hunting for reference material an just spent some time in the online version of the Chevs of the 40's online catalog. https://www.chevsofthe40s.com/Catalo...uck/index.html

I haven't figured out how to maneuver on it except page by page but they have great photos and great diagrams of almost every piece of AD trucks.

This isn't an advertisement for their parts but a link to a source for info for a lot of guys who are hunting info.

The 30 minute time limit for editing is a pain.

After looking through their listings in the catalog I gave the link to I still as always suggest that one checks the other sources to insure that you are getting the best price on the same part. On hard parts always check your local sources first too as you may be able to get a lot of things over the counter at the local parts house that don't have "vintage part" pricing and are priced similar to other like pieces for later vehicles.

Good point worth repeating on the local supplier. I have found NAPA carries Standard brand electrical parts that are the same as restoration places but at half the price. GM was pretty good about using the same parts across years and lines.

I usually use the catalogs to find out if something exists and then go hunting to see if I can get that part locally for a reasonable price.

The quality of this particular catalog is exceptional and the photos, drawings and descriptions is excellent.
