Re: What did you do to your truck today?
I took my dog for a cruise and we ended up stopping at the Pavilions car show here in Scottsdale. It was my first time bringing a vehicle to a car show. There was so much vehicular eye candy. My dog and I had a great time walking around. He peed on a shrub right in front of the Ford display area. I had parked sort of out of the way myself and was surprised that my truck attracted people to look at it...especially considering all the other amazing cars and trucks. It was nice to see that people had an interest. The lettering on my doors seemed to be of particular interest.
I found out that the first rule of the Pavilions car show (and probably many others) is to park facing out. One of the organizers was chasing all around before he caught up to me. Oops. Rookie mistake. |

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
I might get a couple different wheelsets for the truck and just swap them on occasion. I like steelies both plain and with hubcaps and now the California Smoothies with the vintage chevy caps added (Delmo-style) are starting to catch my attention for a different look for certain occasions. |

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Today....????? Mostly just drove it and enjoyed it.
My mate Martin and his wife Amanda invited me to this show, which I had planned on inviting them to as well. This morning at 05.00 Harley came in to wake me, and by 05.30 I was up, out the house by about 06.15 to go run through a boot fair before meeting Martin and Amanda at the Esso Services on the A2 at 08.00 sharp. Bootfair was great, I popped into McD's for a coffee before hitting the road with the Redneck Express. Being exhibitors, we got free entry to the show and the Steam Meuseum. I will try to just post some pics. Due to the sheer volume of American cars and trucks, I have decided to post up mostly just the trucks. Hope you like. At bootfair early morning...... We were being followed by a '65 Chevy in blue and red oxide primer. At the Maldon show field...... Martin getting the shorter arm of the law...... Maybe not as happy now as he had been earlier. Never seen him without a smile. There really was something for everyone. Can you see the rider on this?? On the way home I stopped by at my other buddy Mavericks place to drop of stuff and collect a plasma cutter of mine he had there. I WANT A RIDE ON TRACTOR. Will be posting a bunch of pics in the general section later.

Well... continued with the destruction ( I have days where I think deconstruction is almost as fun as building!) Got the hood and entire front clip off and unhooked other components in prep for cab and engine removal!

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
I replaced the stock door checks with those from a Jeep. I got tired of the doors whipping open on windy days or parking on a grade. I'm still getting use to the doors not opening quite as far as they use to, but I don't hate it. This article is a great step-by-step and describes how it changes the overall door swing. Junkyard Barbie charged $2 for the checks, so it was worth the cost, but I should have checked other Chevy's to see if they had stop checks that would fit the C10.

...did the final mock up of the power window switch that uses the original window crank. Time to take it all apart again...

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
I got the small parts of the bedwood cut drilled and stained. What a PAIN! I should have all the wood cut, stained and cleared by late Friday night. I was hoping to have it done by Sat. morning for a show but it's not going to happen. I messed up some pieces but the strips will hide the mistakes.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
It was at the Valley Fourth Church on South Bowdish. It’s a military appreciation day and fundraiser for the care packages they send overseas. I understood this to be the 4th or 5th show they’ve put on, although it’s the first I attended. Very low key, and a lot of open space for everyone to spread out. I believe the grounds were probably borrowed from the local High School. From what I overheard it had the biggest turnout to date.
Is there a local show nearby this weekend? The next one I’m aware of is on 9/27 at Mirabeau Park in Spokane Valley. I’ve never been to it but my son has. It’s called Valleyfest and has a fair like atmosphere from what I’ve been told. http://www.valleyfest.org/carshow.html

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
My friend with the Chevelle told me tonight he was going to a few shows this weekend. Not sure where they are but they are in town. Maybe on the Northside of town. Thats his hang out. You should go to Shakeys at the Y Tuesday. He will be DJ'ing and there are ton of cars that show up. I should have the truck there if I get the bed back on.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
No pictures to share, but Lucy's Limousine is being put through the steps towards new color. First was the panel repairs done last week. Today, the rain gutter was filled with 3M 08329, Control-flo seam sealer. Tomorrow night, it goes into the back shop and will be sanded and prepped for primer, as the painter wants to head home in AZ. This weekend looks to be soggy, so painting might be a good idea.
