Re: Lambrecht Auction Purchase

ok...so I didn't know what the Lambrecht Auction was, when I saw the title I thought it was like barrett jackson or something that I didn't know about. I googled it, looks like they just did 4.79 million in auction bids. Looks like they had some great deals going on there. Auction Details

Congrats on our buy. I think you did pretty good for the money. It has historical patina. Keep us posted on your resto or bringing her back to life project.

Re: Lambrecht Auction Purchase

Congrats on your purchase, I was there in person, I checked every one of the 67-72 trucks over and also the 58 cameo since I have one of those in my family. This will be a nice project for you, it needs cab mounts if I remember right. It was pretty solid and one of the better 67-72 trucks that was there
The 68 that mgbreis is talking about was probably the most solid truck there in our years. Only real rust was inside drivers kick panel. Cab, doors, fenders and grill was nice. Driver bedside was good but pass bed was beat up though. Had a 327 with a automatic if I remember right.
I was one saying prices were high but I wasn't there for a project, I have projects already, I buy to part out so thats why I didn't get anything bought. I'm hoping that most the cars and trucks were bought for projects. I've heard the 63-65 truck, some were going to get body swaps onto newer frames, but that was only a rumor I heard up there
It was a site to see, all those cars and trucks, I'll remember the rest of my life for sure
Congrats again!!!!

It figures someone from White Marsh would get sucked into this event JUST KIDDING!!! Welcome from a fellow Marylander! You would never find one that nice here. What you see is what you get. Not someone's hidden secrets (temporarily) under shiny paint for more money

Re: Lambrecht Auction Purchase

I would keep together all the auction photos, documents, etc as a "provenance" file that yours was originally a for-real Lambrecht Auction vehicle sale.

Knowing how collectors think, I'll bet the day will come in the not too distant future that a genuine (provable) Lambrecht Auction vehicle will increase the value some, & who knows ......... maybe a LOT. We're all sort of a cuckoo bunch, you know.

Welcome to the club. The fever's got you in it's grasp for sure now.

Congrats on your buy. I watched the auction on The History Channel on Saturday. I was amazed at all the cars and trucks. Pretty cool to get a piece of history.

Welcome aboard and keep us up to date on your progress with your "Piece of History".

I'm gathering items from the auction on ebay, since I wasn't actually there.
The paperwork and such when I pick it up should be interesting. I'm a photographer (professionally) so I plan to document the whole process and trip back home. I have an idea once I get to Pierce to furthur solidify the authenticity of the sale. Woodward Dream Cruise next year should fun, thats for sure.

I'm pretty good at documenting everything when working on a project. Looking forward to sharing all the details with you guys and girls out there.
Most of the guys I work with are really looking forward to seeing it. My boss bid on some of the high dollar low mileage cars but didn't get anything at the auction. He's estatic that I have something to show for it and a part of the history of the auction!

She is the woman that is featured on all stories and videos about the auction, she was one of the auctioneers and she is Vanderbrink. She took my payment over the phone and we talked for about 20 minutes about the auction and what it was like for her. She was still on-site last night (Monday) at 8:30 in a work trailer. There is going to be security at the field until Sunday and the cars will remain there until pick-up. I can't wait to get there and bring this truck back home!

It has that cool patina look that seems to be what people are looking for these days. Unless you have parts that are rusted through, I would just clean it up and put a coat of clear on it.

And Welcome to the board
Man x2, I was thinking the exact same thing. seems there is a guy on here with a shortbox one same color with the patina and shiny look I think is really sharp, and put a new wood bed in it or even go with some old wood thats in good shape but has turned already to keep the patina look would be awesome. Definately make a build thread so we can all keep up with your progress and for goodness sakes have fun with it cuz its easy to get frustrated sometimes and forget its a passion we all have!! congrats and welcome
