Here is a dumb question..
Does the stepside bed sit on those little rubber pads that the fleetside beds sit on. It doesn't look like it does, but I wanted to know for sure.
Hoping to have my bed on in a couple weeks.

The kit for my bed came with the flat rubber pads. (like a square piece of inner tube). I was told it is optional..I guess it's suppose to help quiet things instead of metal on metal.

I think it originally had metal washers and I don't see where the rubber pads would keep noise down as long as the bed was tight to the frame. I was just worried about body lines matching up.

Hmm, thanks Zoomy. I guess I will have to pick me up a set. I bet I could make them out of some old mud flap. I wonder how thick they are?

Find an old inner tube and make your own. I bought some several years ago and there were about that thickness

You'll want to wait till you put the bed on to get the body lines straight. Mine just had like 1/8 inch metal plates between the bed and frame.

I am about ready to put the bed on Mudder! You haven't been up in awhile....
Just doing test fits. I bought two new bedsides and a new RH fender (metal) last weekend. All I need now is a tailgate!

When I replaced my bed, I used rubber pads. I also lost some grounding and the tail lights quit working. I added a ground strap which solved the problem.
