M465 and clutch questions

Greetings

A couple of questions re my very recently acquired 71 C10 with a 250 ci:

How much oil do I need for a M465 fluid replacement and is non synthetic 75-90 GL5 OK?

There isn't a clutch fork return spring on this truck and the clutch fork rattles a little bit. Just checking that there really is supposed to be a fork return spring on this truck. ???

It takes 6 pints (3Qts.) of trans grease. 75/90 GL5 is fine. Synthetic is not nessesary.
There should be a return spring on the clutch fork.

Now, I just need to find a spring. MUCH better solution than RR'ing the clutch throw-out bearing.

Greetings Again

Just an FYI: I drained the M465 and found that it had about 4.2 quarts of old fluid. I leveled the truck and the refill took just a tiny little less than 4 quarts.

If you do some checking, I was surprised to find recommendations to use a good quality 50W motor oil ? This transmission is built like a "Brick S$@T House" it also has manny small oil passages that Need clean oil . I just serviced one in. K-10 that sat for 10 years, drained it, pulled the shifter of and filled it with Mobil 1 15W50 and added one bottle of Lucus Oil Stabilizer. Works perfect and no gear noise at all........

What is good/bad about using a lower viscosity oil vs standard gear oil?

I refilled the trans with a high end ML5 80/90 gear oil.
