exhaust kits
anybody use an exhaust kit from places like summit or else ware? most of them are for long beds, can you make them work for short beds? also I noticed that the 73-87 kits are cheaper. aren't these frames and ours similar ?I'm looking for header back kits. or is going to your local muffler shop the same kind of money? THANKS

Re: exhaust kits
If you're looking for an exhaust kit for a GMC with leaf springs, then yes the '73-'87 kit will work. If you have trailing arms, then it will not without a bit of modification.
The last time I checked, a muffler shop exhaust was a lot more than even one of the more expensive kits. You have to consider they need to get paid for their labor to install it under your truck.
