1969 Chevrolet for Cheap

I had a customer walk in about 30min ago (I work at Advance Auto in Jefferson City) asking if I wanted to buy a truck like mine. I wasn't very interested since we have a few but he said that they want $600 and they want to crush it. Thankfully, they took it to the crusher in nearby New Market and the guy there is a customor of mine and said that he would not crush it. I told the guy that I have a couple of buddies that are looking for a similer truck and he gave me his contact info. I would hate to see a running, driving truck get crushed so I figured I would let everyone here know. The truck has a 327 with powerglide and title. I do not know anything else about it. Pm me and I will give you his info; I do not want to post it up. BTW I have no affliation with this guy I just hate seeing these trucks crushed.

Re: 1969 Chevrolet for Cheap

I have what may sound like a real dumb question but I am serious. Since according to DMV the title proves ownership, how does one go about selling that he does not own?

I wish I could but I don't have the cash right now (college) plus I still have my parts truck.

My understanding from what he said was that the truck is in his buddies name who apparently didn't want to get out of the car. But of course I wouldn't give him cash without having the title in hand and in good condition.

Re: 1969 Chevrolet for Cheap

Well my buddy decided last night that he is interested in this truck so I went to check it out this morning. The bad news is that every panel except the rockers (go figure) have rust or dents. The good news is that it is a good running V8 with a new carb. It looks like we will be getting it this weekend. I know you like pics so I will post some when I can.

Re: 1969 Chevrolet for Cheap

I agree it is definitely rough in the body department, but for $600 combined with the fact that I have a straight version of everything except the doors stowed away, the deal makes sense for us. I also like the fact that it is a 327. I haven't had one of those yet

The nice front bumper and 70 model grille stuff is getting close to the $600 mark. Jim

I was actually thinking the exact same thing earlier today. I would love to see the 572 in it but he can keep the bed cap
