magnaflow vs dynomax

hey everyone,
so in decided which muffler to go with with my new engine has been all over the place. Ive gone through researching each muffler and have come down to the dynomax ultraflows or the magnaflows. I am looking for anyone who can upload a sound clip of their rides and tell me what they are using. opinions are welcome too guys! so some info on my truck. Brand new 383 stroker with aluminium heads and a custom comp cam grind. using custom bent sanderson mid length headers (1 5/8" primary to a 3" collector).

Re: magnaflow vs dynomax

Yeah those look very simular. I live by the Sanderson shop which is why I went with them. Problem I had with the first pair I bought was that they didn't clear the motor mounts. So they told me they'd bend up a custom pair. Got a killer deal I must say, 450 out the door

Re: magnaflow vs dynomax

I love the sound of the flowmaster 40 on my old set up. But the drone was too much

Re: magnaflow vs dynomax

I'm subscribing to your thread. I'm doing pretty much the same thing. ZZ4 crate and Sanderson CC11 headers. I've been looking real hard at the Magnaflows.

383 stroker, cheap headers, and thrush glasspacks. Sounds great until it goes on a long interstate trip.

Re: magnaflow vs dynomax

I'm trying to decide on mufflers for my '68 project. I'm in for sound clips.

Re: magnaflow vs dynomax

I dont have a sound clip, but on an older truck I had (moron ran a stop light right in front of me as I was doing 50 miles an hour... Neither of our vehicles survived) it had magnaflow exhaust, and I just thought it was the sweetest sounding exhaust I ever heard.
When the time comes to redo my exhaust thats what Ill be going with. I have flowmasters now, and they are okay, but the drone is crazy at idle (ie... nearly impossible to order food at a drive through)

Re: magnaflow vs dynomax

I have a dual Dynomax setup with turn downs right after the mufflers. Not the quietest way to do things, but there is a pretty big difference from flowmasters.

I'll try to put up a sound clip later today.
