Does anyone have a vintage air kit installed in your truck. Do you like it? How hard was it to install? Any tips? Would you do it again?

I have it! It's not terribly difficult to install. I had it in a non A/C truck the first time and when I switched cabs i got an A/C cab so I could use the stock vents which I liked WAY more than the ones they give you to drill holes for in your non-AC dash. But I like the firewall cover the way it cleans up the engine compartment. They use a Sanden which I think is supposed to be a good compressor. I need to put some electric puller fans on and get my windows tinted some before the Arizona summer comes around. I like it and I'd definitely do it again.

my friend has it in his 72 and it blows nice and cold does take away fromt he foot room a tad in the passenger compartment

I have a Vintage Air unit in my '72 Cheyenne Super and it is the BEST! You could blowdry your hair and it will freeze you out if you aren't careful. I almost wish it had one more lower setting on the fan.

I have one and love it...It actually takes up a lot less footroom than the factory air...but you lose some glovebox space. I would do it again in a second...blows much colder than the factory air

Thanks for the replies. I also really like the firewall plate. Vintage Air also has a Front Runner for big blocks now. That would be an awesome setup.

What's the price for the vintage air system?

I am thinking about buying a non a/c 68 just because the body and cab are in better than good less than exellecent condition.

I would like to install the a/c if i purchase the truck.

I live in Texas and will not survive in these metal ovens during slow summer day traffic.

I got a Vintage Air for my sb and it was right at 1100 with the billet zooms brackets and the polished Sanden compressor, so the options ran up the price some.

CAN YOU BUY JUST THE IN CAB PARTS,I HAVE AN A/C UNDER DASH UNIT OUT OF A 1975 F-350 U-HAUL IT BLOWS COOL AIR BUT ITS UGLY,IT HAS U-HAUL MOLDED INTO THE PLASTIC,AND IT LEAKS LIKE CRAZY!! IT WAS U-HAUL ORANGE,BUT I PAINTED IT BLACK TO MATCH MY INTERIOR.
I BOUGHT THE ENTIRE SYSTEM LESS THE COMPRESSOR. I REPLACED THE DRYER WITH A NEW 1985 DODGE RAM 50 DRYER,MY COMPRESSOR IS OUT OF A 95 DODGE SHADOW,ALL MOUNTED UP WITH CHEVY/DODGE HYBRID BRACKETS,AND THE GUYS AT NAPA CRIMPED MY HOSES TO TIE THE PLUMBIN ALL TOGATHER.
I PLAN ON HAVING A VINTAGE AIR INTERIOR KIT INSTALLED BY JUNE.

I have Vintage Air in my 71 A/C cab, was 1095.00. Was cheap to charge up. Blows so cold, the first morning I frosted the vents!

I was quoted the same price as busterwivell........if my air ever goes bad that's the route I'll go.....
