Using rear window wiper motor

I have seen where people were using rear window wiper motors for the main wiper power on 55-59 trucks. Anyone have experience on this. Surely some would be better than others ( size, availibility, etc. ). Anyone?

I made one from the rear window wiper motor of an 80s Dodge Caravan. Worked great, I don't have a picture of it though. I'll look under the dash and see if its visible. All I did was cut the pivot off the vacuum motor and weld it to the shaft of the Dodge motor.

I did the same thing using the rear wiper motor out of a 80's Dodge K-Car Wagon

Well now I have to go look at that back door I pulled off my wife's old Grand Caravan to see if I left the rear wiper motor in it. It was cheaper to replace the whole door rather than the window I broke with my lawnmower and an errant rock.

Thanks for the info guys. I knew it could be done, just didn't know how it would turn out or if any motors would work better than others.

I used the motor from the rear of the S10 Blazer that I had. Some guys cut the shaft shorter where the arms connect, but I just used it as it was. My gauges stick out far so I had to mount it a little different (pointing toward the center of the truck) which was OK for me because I removed the center cowl vent anyway.
