sorry ken jon here i see you ahead of my question,no clearance issues with the camaro manifolds the fit perfect,what radiator did you use ken looks like a double pass outlet and inlet

Thanks for getting back on those newer camaro manifolds. Based on your response if I did this again, I'd use the newer camaro manifolds because the older ones (1998-2002) required a bunch of clearance work to make them fit on the pass side.

The radiator came from a company in Georgia called Radiators for Less. It's a big tube 3 row, has the built in trans cooler and has the port for the steam fitting also. With the electric fan and shroud it was like $440 shipped if I remember correctly. PM if you want contact info.

Sorry for the lack of updates along the way. Things like work and life have gotten in the way over the last few months but the good news is the truck is running and moving under its own power now.

Still lots to do but the goal is to take it to it's first car show in 2 weeks at the Five Guys in Palm Bay, FL.

So far the only thing I'm thinking of changing is the rear springs. I think it needs to drop at least an inch if not two. I don't want to go to far though as the truck will still need to haul some stuff occasionally.

Hey Ken just tuning in on your build and it looks great! I used 2010 camaro manifolds on my 65 build and they fit great. No mods and they hug the block very close. I also sent you a PM on the radiator you used. I am getting ready to purchase one.

To update, I've been driving it on and off for the last couple of weeks. So far just shaking it down on surface streets. I have gotten it to shift into all six gears and up to about 50 MPH. Getting braver as the punch list gets smaller and soon I will venture out on the freeway.

This has turned out to be a very nice riding/driving truck. About the only thing I can think I would add is a set of sway bars. Any advise on who makes a bolt in kit?

I think CPP sells some nice bars for your truck. Very nice swap! Nice swap in Jeep as well. I have a good friend that has done a few Jeep LS swaps and you are right about the swap being the best performance mod to a Jeep. It's like they should of had it from the factory. I bought the whole LS swap from CPP (with the adjustable sliders) and I was wondering if you think the 6l80e will fit a stock non high hump floor in a 65?

I have yet to see a 6L80/90E go in (at proper angles) without having to cut the floor.

Here it is with it's LS transplanted sibling. An interesting side note is the Jeep is featured in Jefferson Bryant's second edition of the book "How to Swap LS Engines into Almost Anything".

Forgot to mention that the rear was dropped from stock about 1.5 - 2.0". It still has a rake but no longer has the jacked up air shocks look.

Thanks for the compliment. Yes the body is very good.

As for the swap the truck has been on the road and used as a daily driver since June without a single issue and runs perfect.

Everywhere it goes folks ask about it. Even at stop lights people will comment and when the hood is opened they are astonished to see the drivetrain from a 2011 Suburban in there.
