Heater/AC Diverter Box and Flap
The flap inside the diverter box no longer moves with the cable. I can push the flap open and closed so I'm assuming the flap is done for after 40 plus years of service ('72 Blazer).
Brothers has replacement boxes listed for around $110 and LMC for around $120. I've been dissatisfied with some of the parts I've purchased from LMC, so am intending to purchase the box from Brothers, especially since it's $10 cheaper. But are there actually multiple manufacturers making these kinds of replacement parts or are these made at the same Chinese factory, but Brothers is just cheaper? |

Re: Heater/AC Diverter Box and Flap
I would guess there is only one manufacturer remaking these. Are you sure the door is broken? I had one years ago and it was slipping on the steel rod the door is mounted on. A little super glue and aluminum strips re-enforcing the door so it wont break and it worked fine.

Re: Heater/AC Diverter Box and Flap
I think the door is slipping on the steel rod. I haven't taken it out, but I'm assuming that part of the door is broken or cracked. Perhaps it's repairable per your suggestion. Looks like removing the box is a bit of a PITA. Can the door or flap be removed w/o removing the box?

Re: Heater/AC Diverter Box and Flap
I tried fixing mine several years ago with no success. I bought mine from a vendor locally U have to pull it out to try and fix it.

Re: Heater/AC Diverter Box and Flap
Maybe check Classic Heartbeat or GMC Pauls? They both have really good parts for our trucks...
