My gramps 3/4 68 had stake rakes up to the top of the cab, hauled many many loads of green wood stacked to the top of the cab. Always hauled uphill right in 4th gear doin 55-60

Re: C20 Leaf Springs or Coils

My Dad's 68 1/2 ton was loaded to the box level with dirt and manure and it sagged way down, tires bulged, everything. A half ton is a half ton.

My 2500 Longhorn has the leafs, the 3/4 front suspension and 1-ton rails, plus the factory leafs and an NOS Delco air-ride setup I picked up. No idea what it would carry. If I had a big load, I'd probably rent a new truck.
