Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
I bought another glovebox so I can get it painted too just in case I don't like the chrome one. My plan was to texture the middle of it so it matches the dash bezel.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
I had planned to do that on my last project...texture the middle of a chrome bezel to match the look of the gauge bezel...I've seen it done once or twice and thought it looked great

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
Thanks, I saw it years ago too and figured that it looked more like the right side matched the gauge side, So I wanted to try it. If it doesn't work out I'll just use the painted one.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
Yes! I got a # from him that I can live with so I need to finish up some metal work and test fit the bed panels. He currently has a job he's working on and he said it may be done in six weeks. That gives me a little time to finish this stuff up. I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel but its small. lol

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
Well I met again with the painter and I hope to have this ready in 3 weeks to take to him. I have taken the side trim, door handles off and some interior parts out. I've been working a lot lately at my job and on another project and I'm beat. I also ran out of welding wire so a trip to the welding store is in my future.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
I managed to get the side windows out. Im almost positive I'll scratch my new paint putting the vent windows back in. Not looking forward to doing that.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
Had to do them twice on the burb in the last few weeks. I was lucky the first time, not do much the second. Of course, I don't have nice paint like you do.

Thanks. I'm getting excited to get it finished. I took out the radio and a/c controller. Also got the seats and console out so I can drill the holes for them.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside
Well, I didn't want to, but somebody gave me new window channels for Christmas. Unfortunately, there was no way to get them in without taking out the glass. Heck, I needed Halen's help on the passenger side. My hands are too fat. I'll rent her out to to you if need be.

Worked a little on the hood tonight. Getting a headache, so the grinding had to stop.
