glove box info?
My farmer neighbor gave me a box of old parts that he had left over from the trucks he had over the years. This glove box is different and the sticker is worn out. Is it GM issue or after market? I was thinking of repainting it to match my orange C-20. Thanks for your help

I covered it with some stuff I found on the web. I was just trying to match the instrument bezel. Great stash of knowledge from you, as usual!!!!

Re: glove box info?
Hey MK, that door looks great!
I think its cool that you gave it a new life. I'm sure its much happier going down the road then it was sitting in the corner growing cobwebs. Now back to our regularly scheduled program.

Re: glove box info?
Thanks, RK. I know *I'm* happy with my new door ridin' down the road. You know what they say, "Happy Door, Happy Who.."
Oops! wait a minute. I think I have that wrong! Jasper, Thanks for your compliment. The big thanks go to RK. I screwed around for a while trying to get the set up the way I wanted it. I liked a bunch of the ones I did, and a bunch of the doors that Forum Members have done. But I was pretty sure I wasn't gioing to be "done" with it until it matched the instrument cluster. I tried with a silver (outside of the truck's silver) and various colors of the inset. Then, I found this stuff on Eslay that's called "Faux Leather".. Just a strong contact vinyl/paper. Still, with the silver edge it was a mismatch with the bezel. I was going to go back to the dash color, since I couldn't find a chrome g.b. door inside of my sparse budget. Then, RenoKeene came to the rescue. I'm as happy as a clam (a big clam). Here are pics with the silver and then with the final set-up in chrome.....

Re: glove box info?
Thanks for the info. The door is really good looking I would hate to paint it. It should go back to the original shape. I will contact RenoKeene on the glove box.
by the way nice looking ride. Jasper89 |

And, BTW, I think you mis-read me. I'd NEVER paint the chrome door. Maybe my twisted brain and my typing fingers didn't connect properly this afternoon. Best to you.
