Assembling my 350

Hay guys I bought a 350 bare block and crank a wile back, the block was bored .20 over and the crank was turned .10 under we are concerned if it was line bored or not, what is the standard line bore for a stock 350? If it helps it's a 1974 four bolt thank you

Re: Assembling my 350

Do you mean align-honed? Where the main bearing caps are shortened a tick, and then the (now slightly oval) bearing bores are re-honed perfectly round and inline?

If so, there is no "real" measurement for it. Whether it has been done or not does not affect your assembly.

Re: Assembling my 350

I'm talking about where the crank sits in the block, some people have said that when a crank is turned like mine they usually do a line bore so I'm not sure if that will change anything for me or not

I am going to assume you mean the holes which locate the crankshaft.

The holes in the block the contain the crankshaft make no difference to your rebuild if they have been align-honed (or align-bored) or are factory original.

Having a crankshaft turned undersize is absolutely no guarantee or assumption that the block has been align-honed. If it has, it doesn't matter to the bearings you will buy. If it has not, it doesn't matter to the bearings you will buy.

Sleep easy. Get 'er together, and post a video.
