Gauge's, Cluster's, and Dash'es
Let's see those Gauge's, Bezel's, Dash's, Etc...I've searched the forum and haven't had good luck. I've seen some pics of some custom made bezels on here, but they are scattered all throughout the build threads. Some are bought,some are reconditioned, some are altered, some are full custom. Like tachometers in our trucks I've seen where and how to get and install the "OEM" style, and some where a aftermarket tach's has been installed in a factory bezel. I've seen some custom made stuff too, like the Dakota Digital offers, and some that are "Hand-Made". These are my personal favorites as it shows ones own design and skills in making a "1 OFF" piece. Anyways, if you've got a pic of your gauge, bezel or dash, Please post it on here. I am Looking for inspiration myself, as $800 for a new one on Ebay, just isn't in my budget. there are other, cheaper options, i know, so if you know of them, please post that also.

Here's mine. It's a repurposed glove box door. The gauges are all Equus gauges. They are relatively inexpensive but they have been very accurate.

That is awesome, I love the white faced gauges. And the glove box door, its almost a perfect fit. Did u just have to trim for the steering collum to fit? :dohh :I can't believe I didn't think of the glove box door, And I just painted and pinstriped my dash too, Luckily it's still tore apart

I just used a cut off wheel and cut out the inner panel of the glove box door. Then I welded two studs to the bottom to mount the panel up tight.(In the pic I haven't tightened the nuts up yet. That's why it is pulled away from the dash. Then I trimmed the door to fit over the steering column and drilled the holes for the gauges and turn signal indicators. All in all it was a pretty easy job.

The glove doors and dash bezels were made to go in either position depending on what side of the road it would end up upon. If you look at it the whole cowel and even the frame is made that way as well. What I am saying they[the General ] did not need a bunch of different parts for the repurposed trucks to be either left hand or right hand drive. The Jeeps are famous for this as well. Next time your in the shop take a hard look at your truck and if the int. is out for sure you can see the dash will fit in the glove box hole pretty easy. If you have your motor out take a look at the fire wall and then image in your mind taking the firewall and flipping it around. It will make sense. Jim

Here are my 2 dashes. First one is all GM gauges I put the cluster together myself from several trucks. The only aftermarket stuff in the first one is the bezal and plastic lens. Everything else is pure GM classic gauges.
Speed warning,tach, oil, water and amps is 67-72. The clock is out of a 80's model truck it's quarts to! Tach has 67-72 factory wiring. The speed warning is out of a 70's model caprice. It's for a seat buzzer. Looks the same though except for the buzzer. 2nd cluster is all www.speedhut.com gauges with GPS speedometer which is what is in the truck now. Wouldn't go back to the factory now.

Here is another option. Stock gauge bezel, ashtray and glove box cover have all been custom overlaid with carbon fiber. Trim painted Gloss Black, interior of cab is Matt Black. Will post a pic of finished dash once its all installed. Digital Dakota Gauges.

im new to the website so bare with me lol i attached some pictures of my gauge cluster hope it works! i got rid of the factory fuel level gauge and mounted my 5 inch autometer tach in its spot and bought an autometer fuel level gauge to go right next to the oil pressure gauge , and mounted my fast air fuel ratio gauge in the factory tach spot, and then backlit it all with white leds.

I can't speak for aboesec10, but I always paint the black first and do the silver after it is dry on the gauge cluster, and paint the silver and do the black textured part afterwards on the glove box door. There's a lot more masking when taping up the gauges on the cluster, so I paint the black first, let it dry, and use 2" wide 3M tape to tape up all the black and use a razor blade to cut out for the area around the gauges and around the outside to be painted silver.

I DO like that three holed bezel!
It is so K.I.S.S.! What model is that from? And what is the second knob under the headlight switch? I'd love to convert my dash to the three holes coz half the time I cant see the gauges due to the steering wheel and it just looks cleaner.

As as far as the extra knob, on 67-68's, the wiper and light switch was on left side and the choke knob was on the right side. The manual choke is something that should have never been removed, IMO. This truck cranks also as east as EFI and will never get out adjust, etc. I cranked this truck last Wed when it was 8 degrees here with no problem at all.
