Upright Factory Radio on eBay

Have you guys seen a radio like this in a Chevy truck?? I was starting to think it was for a Corvette, but all of those are FM/AM. Any thoughts, is it rare??

Re: Upright Factory Radio on eBay

I think that is for bigger trucks. I'm sure others know exactly what it will fit. Looks like a good price though.

Mom drove a Chevy Citation back in the day...and it had the upright radio. Looked nothing like this one, but still upright.

The corvettes are quite a bit different. I think he has it listed right as 72-73 heavy duty truck. Here is the one in my bar. Only one i have ever seen.

Cool Re: Upright Factory Radio on eBay

I wouldn't be surprised if that didn't come out of a Chevrolet titan90 or a GMC Astro 95 would it fit in our trucks?

I think you're right . . . I owned a 1971 GMC Astro 95 way back when.

It looked a lot like that radio.

Re: Upright Factory Radio on eBay

Thank's c 10 agent for posting that radio. I just bought it. For $50 I will gamble on its rarity. I Think I'll stick it on a shelf and forget about it for a few years.

. . . .

Besides having the numbers "sideways" - I think it was a different size too.

I'd like to see a picture of the AM/FM radio if you can post it on here.

I believe that GM used them in the T series trucks too.

I hadn't even noticed when I first looked at your picture.

I guess it wouldn't matter if it was "sideways" !!!

So, the radios that we're talking about here ARE the same size ?

Looks to be the same as a standard am/fm, just sideways. Here is a better pic.

It will fit, as too much stuff has shown. If you can get your hands on an AMFM decal for the dial drum, it might pay off for you to get it.
