Another 59 with LS

I started this project about 2 months ago. About time to start a build thread!

1959 Chev Apache step side.
Plan on installing 5.3 LM7 from a wrecked 2002 suburban.

Body back on. Axle moved 1.75" forward. Time to burn front end in and then start on engine mounts, etc.

Re: Another 59 with LS

I'm the third owner of this truck. The guy I bought it from had it for a year and primed the body. Obviously hard to tell how much bondo was used...so it's all going back to bare metal soon. He bought it from first owner after it sat in a barn for many years.

Today I pulled out the rubber floor matts and found and almost perfect floor! Amazing. I've restored three other vehicles and they each had tons of floor pan rot...this truck, nothing. I think the body will be the same way

Yep, we are lucky here.. No salt on the roads! This truck spent its first 54 years in arkansas. Many of them put away in a barn. Looks like little rust around lower door hinge mounts on body...but very minor. Nice to not have to spend all my time fixing rust like I have w my past projects.
