Dog dish caps work with wheel Vintiques steelies, a lot of people run them.

Not on the 6 lug version. Only the 5 lug has the knubs for stock dog dish caps.

If the diameter of the center portion of the wheel vintique wheels is the same size I could weld on three bumps to make the hubcaps snap on ???

I called them up and asked, none of the 6 lugs have the bumps. They feel they won't sell enough of them in a 6 lug to make them. I guess everybody buys smoothies and puts on baby moons on the older 6 lugs.

I spent the last year trying to find a set of 6 lug steelies. Only ones I came across were from a vendor on here, and he had them newly powdercoated white and wanted a heavy price for them. I wanted them black, and I just couldn't spend that much to turn around and re-do them.

I gave up a few weeks ago and bought some rallyes.

I may check and see if the wheel vintiques ones are the correct size for.the hubcaps it will be easy to install the 3 bump snaps if they are the correct diameter ,

The Wheel Vintiques 6-lug wheels is a smoothie wheel.
(solid wheel)
The correct wheel you want is their Series 62 wheel,... which they don't sell in 6-lug.
5-lug only.
These wheels have the nubs for the dog dish hub caps and the 4 small windows in the wheels to match your front wheels.

You need to look at 73-87 4x4 CUCV 15x8 wheels.
A guy just sold 5 here on the board last week.

Re: Where can I find a pair of 15x8 6 lug steelies ?

The wheel Vintiques 12 Series wheel has no windows and the ring is too big for your dog dish hubcap since it takes a small internal clip centercap.

That smoothie wheel will work with some minor modification I couls make a set of bumps on that wheel to snap the hubcap onto , but yes the factory gm 15 x 8 ones like you pictured is the ones I want ,

PM uncle or Southern Parts. They usually have some of them. I recently picked up some for my '68. You can get them in 5 or 6 lug, but the CUCV ones lolife mentioned are 6 lugs. They come on these:

Re: Where can I find a pair of 15x8 6 lug steelies ?

BTW, the ones with 3 bumps sometimes don't have the 4 small slots (or windows) like your front ones do. The are solid. The ones with 4 bumps seem to have always have the slots. The CUCV have 4 bumps instead of 3. There are least 3 different styles of these wheels that I've seen.

Re: Where can I find a pair of 15x8 6 lug steelies ?

To clarify, some of the 3 bump wheels have the slots, and some don't. All of the 4 bump wheels I've seen (5 and 6 lug) have had the slots. I have one 3 bump wheel with no slots that has mounting holes for a center cap also. The CUCV 4 bump wheels do not have any center cap mounting holes.

Your factory ones should have the little slots anyway. I talked with uncle a few minutes ago, and he said he didn't have any at the moment. You can still check with Woody (Southern Parts). He had some at one time.

Just from looking at the pic the wheels vintiques wheel pictured above looks.like the stock cap would fit but it dont have the bumps for the cap to snap if I knew that was the case I would order two of them ,,,, has anybody actually tried to see if a stock cap will fit up on the center of one of those ?
