Torque specifications in manual ( or lack thereof )
I bought the factory light truck manual and skipped the Haynes version. Then I ended up buying the Haynes manual since it seems to have a lot more of the torque specs listed. The shop manual in a lot of cases says "torque to soecifications" but I can't find the specs. In some chapters they're there, in others not. Is there another manual, or is this one just incomplete?

Do you have this one? 970 or so pages long.

Re: Torque specifications in manual ( or lack thereof )
Hey. That one looks familiar. The factory manuals are 3 volumes for 1980. Service, Unit Repair, and Wiring Diagrams. Grab a Searchable PDF copy of all three from my signature and a pack of small postits. I usually search the electronic copy and tag the sections I need in my original hardcopy with postit notes.

Re: Torque specifications in manual ( or lack thereof )
Here's the one I have - what I was wondering was if there was a manual supplement or other volume that had all that info. I'll check the Unit Repair version, thanks.

Re: Torque specifications in manual ( or lack thereof )
I've the PDF files, too. I don't remember where I got them. Every time I reference it, I take a moment to reflect upon the fact that someone manually scanned each and every page of that book, and probably many others, too.
Still, I wish I had the books for mine, made out of dead trees. Because when the zombie apocalypse goes down, those PDF files won't be doin' anybody any good. |

Oh no...it happened. I've become my dad. I remember a teenage roger97338 listening to his father forget where things were, and musing how it must be horrible to be so ancient and feeble-minded. Anyway, I promise to write down where I see those specs and share it, if you'll do the same. |

HAHAHAHA! I just looked at my Haynes manual. Guess where all the torque specs are? The first page of each chapter has the specs for what that chapter covers.
