high performance disc brake calipers
I have a 70 K-10 with front drum brakes and I want to convert to disc brakes. Lots of you saying, "Been there, done that..."
Since I'm replacing components, I want to get the best braking capability I can. I've considered 3/4 ton brakes (rotors), but the calipers are the same as 1/2 ton. Seems to me that calipers make a big difference. Has anyone here used aftermarket calipers from Wilwood or Stainless Steel Brakes? If so, did you discover that the performance and longevity made the extra cost worthwhile? Thanks, |

My friend uses wildwood products on his short track roundy round camaro. They perform well, but I wouldnt spend the extra money on a street car. If you stick with stock replacement parts you can always walk in to any parts store and get anything you need for it. The wildwood stuff you would have a difficult time finding replacement parts or warrenty on a sunday when you break down.

Thanks...that's good advice. I think I'll stick to stock 1/2 ton components and spend the money where its better spent.
