Froze up bolt on i-250

In the process of power steering conversion, was getting ready to attach the p/s bracket. The two bolts that are in the front, I can't seem to budge them. The bottom one felt like it was going to snap off. So now I'm applying Kano Kroil penitrating oil to the bolts. Is their a better product out there, that I should be using? I also have CRC Freeze off.

What are some options to take this bolt out? Heat it up? I've nevere done this, how do i heat it up with a butane torch? And whats the process for this? Thank you all for your help.Name: 00F0F_iWt4CAqMucK_600x450.jpeg

Heat. Butane probably won't do it. Propane might. You really need a oxy/acetalyne torch. On bolts it's best if you can heat where it screws in to. You can heat to a bright (orange!) (steel) without ruining your heat treating. If you can't get to the threads and don't have a torch just heat the bolt up as much as you can and twist away.

You can try heat, and penetrating oil, and rapping the bolt head with a hammer. Spray the penetrating oil on it while it's hot. It may catch fire but it won't be extreme, you can blow it out with your breath.

Good looking engine!

Re: Froze up bolt on i-250

Gr8 news for me I got the bolts out w/o any major issues. I sprayed them every day with Kroil penetrating oil and it seemed to work well. They were hard to get started, but after working aback and forth I finally free them loose. Thanks

My experience is that, if Kroil won't get the fastener undone- it's time for the Flame Wrench! Got a pair of studs and nuts soaking on a '35 Plymouth shock absorber. I really don't want to hit it with fire- and, I probably won't have to.

I also read that a good home remedy was 50/50 ATF/Acetone I didn't get a chance to try it out but very interested. I will mix up a batch for upcoming issues.
