brake swap

I know I have probably posted something like this before but I am trying to swap to disc brakes on my 66 c10 6 lug. I want to save the 6 lug if at all possible. I haven't seen too many like my truck. Is there a way to piece together a kit that is strictly bolt on or slight fabrication? I would rather do that then spend a ton of money on a kit. Are there any kits out there that are reasonably prices that have 6 lug spindles with the conversion? I haven't really been able to find one for the front only. As always any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Here is a link to the pages that should answer quite a few of your questions.

would this setup work with the original wheels that I am running? I know some conversions will require getting different size wheels to clear the conversion. I will be using the stock spindles that is under "recommended parts".

Re: brake swap

That kit requires either McGaughy's dropped spindles or stock disc brake spindles. You can not use your original drum brake spindles. You might be able to use original 16" wheels with a disc brake conversion, but not original 15" wheels. The 15" wheels must be disc brake compatible.

Reading the suggested threads will explain how to do a disc brake upgrade on a budget. Basically all you need is a '71-'87 C10 front suspension. Then add the aftermarket 6 lug rotors.
