PUI vs Truck World seat covers
I ordered some bucket seat covers for a 1970 c10 through Classicparts. I had them verify the manufacture before buying them. They told me via online chat that their seat covers are made by Truck World. I also have a recorded transcript of them stating this. So I bought them and what do they mail me? PUI covers Should I just save myself the trouble and just use the PUI covers? Anyone have good/bad results with them?

Re: PUI vs Truck World seat covers
what Chad said. I got my Truck World covers from him (one custom cloth houndstooth set and one custom made highlander set) and they were perfect. I'd send em back - if they can exchange for TW, then let em, if not, then give Tim (Truckseats) a holler.

Re: PUI vs Truck World seat covers
I have truck world houndstooth seat covers on my bucket seats and a PUI on my back seat in the Blazer. THe PUI cover is faded and has torn after a few years. The truck word covers are just as nice as the day they were installed.

Re: PUI vs Truck World seat covers
Thanks for the advice everyone. After some resistance Classic Parts finally agreed to take back the PUI covers and send me a set of Truck World covers as well as pay for all the shipping. Unfortunately I will have to wait 2 months plus to get them I am told.

Re: PUI vs Truck World seat covers
Good to hear. As I said before, I don't know if the cover my buddy got was the exception from PUI, but it was not a good cover. I have PUI vinyl seat covers and door panels in my GTO, and they seem to be well made. The houndstooth material seemed to be thin on the truck seat from them. The vinyl seems to be OK on his, but cloth tore very quickly.

Got pictures of the custom Highlander set? Also how much was the custom set if you don't mind me asking?

Re: PUI vs Truck World seat covers
i'll pm you Clemson - here are some pre-assembly pics. They are custom made because nobody makes highlander seat covers with the factory scrollwork - Tim was a huge help. SMS had to be brought into the mix as well to make it happen.

Re: PUI vs Truck World seat covers
Awesome looking covers Jocko! I've been pleased with the bench and bucket covers supplied my member Truckseats (Tim) for my builds...

Re: PUI vs Truck World seat covers
IIRC it took a couple of (2) weeks at most...will depend on what you order I imagine (custom work longer). Shoot him a PM...

Re: PUI vs Truck World seat covers
Yes - wait time is short and sweet for a stock order, and he has plenty. I think my olive custom cloth from Tim was MAYBE 2 weeks - smoothe transaction. The highlander plaid took a long, long time - but this was because nobody made them with scrollwork at the time, and because of other parties involved (SMS), not Tim (they shipped the wrong color initially, etc etc but finally got their act together and I'm sure the highlander plaid WITH scrollwork would be much quicker). Tim was my go between and he was the one that alerted me to the incorrect color shade of parchment BEFORE he assembled them with the plaid (whew) and saved the day. The currently available highlander plaid WITHOUT scrollwork would probably only take a few weeks just like any other available setup.

Re: PUI vs Truck World seat covers
Thanks everyone, I do NOT want to put anyone on BLAST here, but it has been sometime (longer than posted above) since I placed an order and I had to email back to find out status, still waiting....

Re: PUI vs Truck World seat covers
I have PUI covers on my Buckets in my truck and I would never buy from them again. I got them before Truckseats got here, next set is going to be from him.
