Gauge Cluster Bezel Questions

So, for the '73-'74 gauge bezels there is one part number. For the '75-'77 bezels there is another. And the '78-'80 bezels have another. To me, they all look the same. I heard after '75 the wiper switch was moved slightly. So will any '75-'80 bezel work even though there are two different part numbers? I'm in need of one for my '79 but all the eBay ads clump them all into the '73-'79 year range as compatable. I just want to make sure I get one that fits.

Re: Gauge Cluster Bezel Questions

73-74 bezels have a raised area around the headlight switch and a fairly narrow rectangular opening for the wiper switch.

75-77 bezels no longer have the raised area around the headlight switch and the hole is larger. The rectangular opening for the wiper switch is a bit wider too.

78-80 bezels have some styling changes. But I believe they kept the same headlight & wiper switch openings as the 75-77 bezels. So they should still interchange. The lower steering column covers are shaped a little bit different where they mate up to the bezel so you'll need to use one that matches the year range of the bezel.

Hey, thanks! So, they should all interchange then?

Re: Gauge Cluster Bezel Questions

The wiper switch is in a little different location on the 73-74 trucks as well. The 75-77 bezel requires you to move the wiper switch a little bit to clear the hole.
