Starter Problems

So I swapped a 90 350 motor into my 72 with a sm465, the block mounted starter nose wont fit in the bell housing and the old bell mounted starter will fit but is about 1/8 of an inch off from being able to thread the top two bolts. The bottom bolt in the bell threads in fine. Due to my cheapskate nature I'm trying to avoid buying a mini starter especially when I already have two relatively new starters on hand. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks
