trucks starts and runs fine then dies

So I have a 73 gmc super custom 1500 and it starts every time and even drives for a while seemingly without any problems. Increasingly though this is what happens I start it and all is fine and drive it awhile maybe 1-2 miles and then its as if the engine is getting no gas. I could have the pedal to the floor and it just slowly loses rpms until it dies so i pull over wait a minute, it starts right back up and then sometimes it just keeps doing it every mile or so or it doesnt do it at all again for the rest of the drive. Help? Any ideas preferably least expensive first. Thank you!

Zack

Sounds like a distributor problem. Check your wires, spark plugs... if all seems well. then you might consider changing out your distributor.... ~$50 from ebay should do it. If you've changed to fuel injection you might have another problem.
