Moving gas tank to the rear..

So a purchased and moved the fuel tank to the rear of the bed. And I just saw a video advising that I need to cut the beds cross member because it will hit the tank and not sit on the chassis??? Is this correct info?

I am using the Blazer tank conversion kit from LMC...

Yes, you need to cut the rear brace.

Or grind off the rivets and reposition it????

That won't do much because by the time you move it far enough there's a brace pretty close to either end of the tank... the brace in question is pretty much over the middle of the tank. Lots of people have cut them. I took mine out (stepside - bed never gets used).

I took mine out. It was about as easy as working on old trucks gets.

I don't know about the kit from LMC but the one I bought from Kenny's trucks required cutting one of the braces. THIS is how I did mine. (toward the bottom of the page). It only took a few hours.....

I cut mine and then put in a 1/4 inch flat bar for support.

easy would be leaving the stock tank in place....
