Steering Wheel Help
I am looking for a new OE steering wheel for my 1972 Cheyenne Super.
Here are the best prices I can find through a quick search of the vendors on this site. GMC Pauls - $220 H & H Classic - $229 Brothers - $209 (all plus the ~$20 horn button) Others are MUCH more expensive. Is there a chinese knock-off buyer beware situation I should be aware of, or is the wheel from Brothers just as good as any? Thanks for the help, Rich Last edited by 70cst; 04-09-2014 at 12:18 AM. |

Re: WTB New Steering Wheel
They are all made by the same manufacturer (Counterpart) as I understand it.

Re: WTB New Steering Wheel
If you have spent any time behind a real OE wheel you will probably be disappointed in these re-pops. They flex a lot more due to a smaller steel core.

Re: WTB New Steering Wheel
I have questions for those that have the repop wheels. Besides the flex, how do you like them and how are they holding up are they cracking?

Re: WTB New Steering Wheel
I put a black one from Classic Heartbeat on the "Garden Truck" back in 2004 and it is still on it and looks as good as the day I put it on. It is more flexible than stock though. WES

I have purchased two of them. One for the '71 Chevy 4x4 and one for the '69 Suburban. I sold the '71 4x4 shortly after I finished it so no report there. I have been driving the '69 Suburban for about two years and that one seems to be holding up very well. I just took a close look at it today. I can see why you are wondering, they are a pretty big investment. LockDoc

Re: WTB New Steering Wheel
I just got an original 67 steering wheel that I'm going to restore. I have an old crappy wood one.
