Re: Gettin' Sketchy

This thread made me dig out my old sketchbooks from school. Back then I was kind of all over with car pics but I grabbed a few good ones.

A modded early 4th gen Camaro

90s Dodge Ram

the start of an old VW Beetle

And it looks like I started on a 67-68 short stepper.

I'll slip some other vehicles I ball-point sketched back 30 or so years go.I keep telling how long ago so you'll understand the "datedness" of some things. But,basically, most things have stood the test of time. Just so you know,I never went for the neon sunglasses thing

Re: Gettin' Sketchy

Not drawn by me (I wish it was!), but here is a drawing that I have been using as inspiration for my '67 GTO. I need to drop the front of my car to get the same stance as the drawing, but it will look pretty close.

I know this isn't 67-72 Chevy truck related, but I thought some of you may like it.

I can see the inspiration. Got any crayons to color it in? You could take credit for that!

Re: Gettin' Sketchy

Finish that big boy up! You're not bragging, just showing. I don't have any real drawings that I know of,just sketches. I have to draw plans that are precise for my work and for some reason never had the motivation to do trucks with any real precision. I should try one sometime

Thanks! It is an original 400 H.O. - 4 speed car, but the original engine is long gone. It has a later model 400 in now, but I am building a stroked 428 Pontiac for it.

You'd be surprised how many times that question actually gets asked! -lol I was talking to some guys about the 428 block I'm using for it, and a guy looks up and says "Why you putting a Ford motor in it?!?"

Well, thank you very much. I think that's the only '55 I ever sketched. I used to do a lot of VW Bugs. I had a Nomad and was doing some pondering. But,if I did do a 4wd wagon it would have been the '55 4dr I also had. Just thought the Nomad would make a better picture.
