How white is the white in a 68 anniversary truck bucket seat?

My truck seat was recovered brown before I bought my truck. I want to get seat covers made for my buddy buckets, gold and white. How white was the original seat cover. Thanks for the help.

Gm white vinyl is more of an off white than a brite white , Stop by your local auto trim shop and they can show you the difference .

That's the problem. There books show the off white for a 1968 truck. But when I held it against my anniversary door panel, it looked horrible. Could it be that the Golden Anniversary colors are not in the interior books?

Re: How white is the white in a 68 anniversary truck bucket seat?

The problem is time and sun exposure .I have been building interiors for more than 35 years and run into these questions almost daily , just like paint and plastic the vinyl ages and fades and finding a perfect match is almost impossible , Go thru the upholstery shops vinyl books and find the best match there are hundreds of "whites" made by dozens of different companies .also different grains printed into the materials . Remember it's 40 + years old ! pull a door panel off and you will see the real color on the back where it was protected from the elements .

The 50th anniversary is a pretty darn pure white,as I said before. Not to be mistaken with Parchment. No,I don't think you'll find it in the stock color samples

SMS fabrics has the fabric your looking for in the correct color for the anniversary. Nice people, nice products, but spendy! I got my gold cloth for my 50th from them and putting my monies together to buy the white.

The bucket trucks got gold vinyl inserts bench got cloth. The white is pretty white. When I did mine we left out the gold insert because I personally did not like it.

Re: How white is the white in a 68 anniversary truck bucket seat?

What's left of the white vinyl on my original 68 bench seat is a bright white. It looks somewhat briter than seats in post 9...
The bench seat had no gold in it...
