Dually gear options from factory
On 81-87 2wd chevy duallys, was a 4:10 the standard ratio or an option?
Was 3:73 the only other available from the factory? I know I can get different gears aftermarket. Just wanna know what came from the factory. I have a 83' single cab 454/400th combo. No sticker in glove box for codes. I know GT4 is 3:73 and GT5 is 4:10. I'm going to pull the cover and count gears tomorrow.

Re: Dually gear options from factory
I believe 3.73 were standard, all others were special order.

Re: Dually gear options from factory
Here's a sample powertrain chart from the '87 info packet.
There is no mention of dually (RO5) vs single wheel so it does not appear that was a discriminator in axle ratio availability. K

Re: Dually gear options from factory
We had a 2wd C30 with 3.73s and a 4 speed, real dog to drive, from what I remember 4:10s were standard, we ordered the 3:73s
