lowering shackels

Hi got question was thinking bout just doin shackels in the bk to lower it down a lil on my 86. Without the different brackets will I have clearance issues with the bed cross member above it and if so could I cut it out with out having problems with the bed loosing strength ?

You can cut the bed. I wont hurt anything. You can plate it back in but I would worry about it. You can do the hangers instead and not cut anything. FYI your pinion angle will change and may (or may not) cause some issues.

I was going to go the drop hanger kit from Western Chassis, the 4" drop with front hanger and rear shackles. Will this affect my pinion angle?

Simple answer is YES. However, you can add a shim to get most of it back.

Has not caused a problem on my 87. I have thee shackle and hangar

Not if you do both hangers and shackles as they lower the front and back of the spring the same.
