93 350 fuelie motor swap in a 77 C10

Hey Sorry to pop in unexpected-like, but I got a shot at a 77 long bed and considering a 93 GM van for drive line donor vehicle... because I have IOCD (Incurable Old Chevy Disorder) and I love the old 77's looks.

Nothing too crazy / just a cheap driver with a story.

Would you guys tell me the ups & downs of the potential swap?

The motor should be a straight bolt-in deal. The only thing different with the '93, if I remember right is the serpentine drive and the EFI. If you have the harness and sensors the EFI shouldn't be too hard to use. The serpentine drive is a pretty popular swap. The only things that change with it are the pulleys (obviously) and the water pump, which is reverse-rotated.

Depending on the model of the trans, you may need a controller box.

The only thing I can see that might be an issue would be the harness itself. simply because it is from a Gvan and with the positioning of the firewall, the lengths may be off. Shouldn't need any controller though if the original ecm is used. Should make a nice swap. We did almost the same thing on an 80. Except we used the harness (and engine) out of an 87 we parted. Did the whole harness swap engine compartment and dash. Everything went like clockwork.

If you run into issues with the TBI swap you can source a truck harness as everything else is the same.

Standalone harnesses are also available and relativity inexpensive.
