Help decoding my 1950 3600
Hey guys,
New to the forum here, I'm a classic car dealer in Scottsdale AZ and picked up a 1950 Chevy 3600 truck not too long ago. I don't know a whole lot about decoding these and wanted to see if you guys can help me out. The engine stamp appears to be SME7161 and the serial # on the tag in the cab shows 20HR-G. If any of you guys can help me figure out what motor is in this truck and what it was supposed to come with I'd appreciate it Thanks |

Picture of the engine would be helpful.
If it's original, it should be a 216, but I can't make heads or tails of the SME7161 |

1950 3600 125.25 wheel base made in Los Angeles CA this will give you almost everything you need to know http://www.gmheritagecenter.com/docs...olet-Truck.pdf looks like a 216 |

Re: Help decoding my 1950 3600
Thanks, looks like most of the info I was looking for was on here. The biggest thing I wanted to find out is what engine is in it since the casting # doesn't seem to match with anything listed for 1950
