Re: 1964-1966 center a/c vent
the side vents look great! so if the complete center is $300 what is it with the smaller vents? wondering what a total setup is going to cost me!!

Re: 1964-1966 center a/c vent
im not sure just yet but for a complete set it will be a little cheaper than buying a piece at a time. most of my cost comes from having the parts chromed and the shipping.

Re: 1964-1966 center a/c vent
This is awesome! Excellent work. I just shared this link with a friend at Vintage air as this would be an amazing addition to their sure fit kits. I would love to see a complete modern AC kit with the original vent. Fantastic work stepping up & filling the void in the market. I know it will pay off for you.

Re: 1964-1966 center a/c vent
That red ball looks kinda neat in the housing. Could you do them in Black to save on getting them chromed if someone whated that option?

sure if you wanted them black i could just dye them that color and you would get your parts alot faster too.

Re: 1964-1966 center a/c vent
got the first half of the new smallest vent ball mold done. looks like i cant find the center vent clip so i am going to try and cast it as well. we may have to glue it in on final assembly but I'm sure it will work just fine. i will keep you all posted. and thanks again for the kind words.

Re: 1964-1966 center a/c vent
Man, so glad I was just browsing the FAQ section which led me to thinking about another member. When I searched his posts, I came upon this thread. I remember seeing some talk from a couple folks about making this happen, but I'm so glad to see it's working out for you! Luckily for me, my dad found an original in good shape from an A/C cab he bought a while back. If I end up needing anything though, I know where to look. Congrats, & keep up the nice work!

Re: 1964-1966 center a/c vent
did some more work on the 2in vent ball mold today.
made the 1st clip and it was too thin. it did not grab tight enough. so i made another mold and made it about 3 times as thick. because its resin and not metal it did not stay when you pushed on the center vent. so i drilled a couple of holes for the "teeth" to drop into and it came out perfect. the next faceplate mold i will make it will have the holes in it . this is taking me longer than i thought. its allot more work than i expected but i am making progress every weekend. please bare with me.

Re: 1964-1966 center a/c vent
I have to say, your work is Simply amazing. And here thought I really was doing good when I filled a shifter ball full of epoxy, rubbed a little grease on the shifter handle, and held it in place while the epoxy cured so I could 'adapt threads' hahahaha.
