Re: how to CLEAN rust off

I'm going to run out and grab some for my '63. Has the desert beige and I hope it'll come out looking nice.

And this is how she sits while I put some wood in the bed. Found a non blue hood that 1963c-10 had laying around.

Sorry for the big gap between the updates

Re: how to CLEAN rust off

Wow - this is great stuff.
My truck has a lot of patina on it that looks great but I'm trying to keep early signs of cancer at bay. I'll try this when I get to the outside sheet metal and post results.

Re: how to CLEAN rust off

I'm wondering how the clr will react with a little osfo mixed in...
Hopefully I'll get a chance to test it in the next few weeks.
My thinking is CPR light surface stuff and convert the heavy stuff.
I'll chime back in if/when I remember.
Great informative post. Thanks LHM!
Cheers

Re: how to CLEAN rust off

With newborn in the house, I haven't gotten to the CLR yet.
I can say though that Rustoleum Satin Clear (the painter's touch 2s coverage stuff) works great over old paint. It's invisible, or darn near, over any paint that has take on some texture over the years.

Before and after pics from last weekend when I attacked my tailgate with the CLR and a Scotch Bright pad.
