Deleted Threads?

I was searching for the power brake upgrade thread by Sharps40, but I can not find it. In fact all I can find of his threads is one. Have all his other threads been deleted for some reason?

Re: Deleted Threads?

Try it again Captainfab. The link that LostMy65 posted worked for me.
Threads never get completely deleted here. I do know that there have been some recent server problems and that may have been the problem. If you're still having problems, you may want to post in the "Site Feedback" area for an answer.

Re: Deleted Threads?

hes around, his threads and posts are around, and for some reason he has deleted half his posts recently. This is why the edit feature was removed for a while, mass deleting messes up the flow of things big time

Re: Deleted Threads?

Things like this piss me off more than most anything. Its often referred to as taking your ball and going home. This in itself is why users lose features they depend upon. It happens every so often, and wastes a huge amount of time to fix.

Re: Deleted Threads?

link not working here either .... i go on a tractor site and a couple guys got mad and dont post any more ...but one other guy went to the trouble of going through all (many years worth) his threads AND ANY/ALL POSTS and edited (you cant delete there but can edit till the end of time) each and everyone so now they all just say "no longer posting on this site" ....talk about a jerk taking his marbles and going home..... a lot of great info gone forever

Re: Deleted Threads?

Yeah, he got ticked off that his gun thread was upsetting some.
Then it appeared his signature was mocking these sensitivities of others.
He contributed much to these forums.
But if staff doesn't want a particular subject to be discussed in these forums, I think it's great.
I met C-10 King the other day, and that's what we said we like about these forums.
No bad language, No sexist posts.
Great for the whole family - like father and daughter build threads.

Re: Deleted Threads?

Too bad, he shared a lot of knowledge. Had some strong opinions on stuff, maybe too strong or contradictory to some folks, but why does everyone have to get so butt hurt about things that they drive someone off the boards? He approached but never stepped over the line in anything that I saw, but maybe I missed something truly offensive.

Taking your ball and going home is kind of childish, though. Take the ball and a good deal of my respect along with it.

Disclaimer: There are two sides to every story, and I doubt we will ever get Sharps40's side.
I'm with Lostmy65, I really like this forum, and the way it has been moderated to make it a great resource for ALL to partake. Best forum on the Internet that I have ever seen.

Its not gone forever... We do not allow that kind of disruption to the site flow. Give us a bit, I am not blowing off my kids bday party to fix this, but it will get fixed

Re: Deleted Threads?

The dead end might be loading from your cache, if you haven't, try emptying your browser cache and see if it will load. The page is still alive, I just visited it. Could try this link, too, it's for the 2nd page and might not be in your cache ... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=611577&page=2

Re: Deleted Threads?

Things of this nature is also a reason, why I usually do not list threads in the 60-66 FAQ when the photos are stored, off site. That and sometimes people move around/delete their photos when they sell a project and the photos all go 'poof'.

I only mention this as I occasionally get a PM asking me 'why isn't this thread listed'?

It's a shame some folks want to get upset on a truck forum... I've seen it on all of the ones I visit tho'.

He was a knowledgeable fella, especially about the sixes, helped a lot of folks out.

Re: Deleted Threads?

Thank you Liz and staff for looking into this and restoring the missing thread. I was trying to link to the thread in question to a potential customer. Sharps40 has some very informative threads and I am glad to see that they are not totally lost.

I hope your kids and family had a great Birthday party today.

Many thanks to all you do to keep this great forum up and running

I liked Sharps40 he was cantankerous and grumpy but in a genuine and humorous way. Oh well all the best to him, live and let live as they say.

Re: Deleted Threads?

Thats probably the best thing he can do. If the internet gets to you as bad as it has him lately, and bad enough to spend hours deleting information you spent hours posting, then its probably time to focus on life offline.
