1975 Chevy Drip rail replacement

I have just bought a unbelievably clean original '75 short bed 2wd with no rust! Been looking for some time now, and I just tripped over a California truck up here. Only issue I see is the drip rails above doors are gone, all that is left are some rivet heads.

I haven't owned one of these trucks before and I wish it was so easy to remove them from my '67. I would like to replace them as I plan on doing nothing more than lowering this truck and putting it on Rally's. For now atleast it will keep its 250 6 cyl and the 4 speed.

Are the drip rails just a bolt on part, or was there more to doing this as the previous owner did it. I did a quick search to try and buy these but it seems like all I can find is the chrome that slips over the drip rail, or is this chrome piece all there ever was? And how exactly were they attached?

It screws to the cab and the chrome snaps to that. I just took mine off.

Re: 1975 Chevy Drip rail replacement

On my 75, the drip rails were plastic and riveted on. The plastic died a slow death. I replaced them with a metal pair found in the local pul-a-part after getting tired of getting dripped on by morning dew. The metal ones are held in place with screws. I put a thin coat of silicon sealant on the bottoms before putting them on.

Ok thanks for help, sounds like I have a set to buy off one of the members here. And here's the only picture I have.
