nv4500 swap with bench seat

Has anyone done the nv4500 swap with a bench seat? I have a lead on a nv4500 but I want to keep my bench seat. I hear that it makes the 4x4 lever interferes with the seat. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Re: nv4500 swap with bench seat

I did one years ago in the truck in my avatar pic. probably not the same set up you will use, but it worked fine for seat and shifter clearance.

that post shows the shifters. not sure the tcase shifter is actually hooked to the linkage, but it cleared fine.

Re: nv4500 swap with bench seat

My combo has the transfer case mounted directly to the 4500's tail shaft. The 205 shifter just kisses the bench when shifted into 4wheel. Currently I am moving the drivetrain forward 2 inches so that will be alleviated as well as other clearance issues.

Re: nv4500 swap with bench seat

Thanks for the info guys. For some reason I was thinking that the shifters would be very close to the seat. Looks like its not that big of an issue.

Re: nv4500 swap with bench seat

I think it depends if you move the transfer case back or move the engine forward. The NV4500 is longer than your OE trans.
