Re: How can i raise the front end of my 65 gmc 2wd
It's much easier to get one of the Ford's up that high because they came with straight axles during this period (and earlier). On our trucks the first step is putting new original springs in. If that isn't enough new/custom longer than stock springs will bring it up further. There is a practical limit before the front end can no longer be brought into alignment.
Back in the 60' & 70's when the nose high style was popular, there were spacers for the upper ball joints that allowed more front end travel. There are still both the spacer type, and the "C" style listed on Ebay for many popular models. If I remember correctly, only the "C" style allowed alignment adjustment. It would take some research to see if these would fit the upper ball joints in the 65 GMC truck.

It's easy! Cut off the frontend and install a straight axle from an econoline

Hydraulics like this, or bags. Just put junk in bed like your picture.

A set of stock front springs and a 5" drop in the back would just about get you there. A set of Halibrand wheels and you would be good to go.

If you want it to look just like that truck you'll need to remove the stock suspension and weld on a straight axle. Speedway sells kits in various widths to match the stock axle width.
http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Search...aight+axle+kit By the way, that look of the big slicks out back, the front high in the air on a straight axle with a big motor is called a "gasser."
