Aftermarket wiring harnesses

So I recently acquired a 1968 gmc c15. The body is in great shape but the p/o completely hacked up the wiring harness so I am planning on installing a new harness. I was wondering if anyone has used either the 28 circuit painless kit made for our trucks or the 18 circuit summit harness made for gm's. I've been getting ridiculous quotes for the install so I was wondering also how difficult it would be to install my self and how much time it took some of you. Thanks

Re: Aftermarket wiring harnesses

We sell and install M&H brand and American Autowire brand wiring. Both brands are exactly like the originals and have all original connectors, gutters and fasteners preinstalled. These companies have done everything but install your harnessed. Other harnesses require you to cut your firewall, measure wires, install your old connectors, and fasteners. If you are looking for easy do it yourself wiring, then these are the ticket. I have installed many of these harnesses without issues and recommend them to everyone. They also have a classic update kit that will upgrade you to the flat spade fuses, witch is just as easy to install. WES

American AutoWire. My first time wire job and it truly was a piece of cake.

Re: Aftermarket wiring harnesses

I've used both Painless and American Autowire kits, both are excellent and make the job fairly simple. Go for it!

Re: Aftermarket wiring harnesses

Thanks for the responses everyone. Ended up going with te American autowire kit part #510333 because new connectors and switches sounds awesome. And really seems like a quality product. Just ordered from summit. Will also be installing an old air products in dash ac system made for our trucks that literally just arrived. Beyond stoked
