here i go again

well it's been a really long time since ive posted anything or done anything with a truck. went through some things over the past 5-6yrs and finally in the position to get another truck/project. i'm looking at one now but i just dont know how much to pay for it, the truck looks fairly solid but the PO looked like he took a spray gun and just covered everything with it. what your opinions on how much you'd pay for a truck like this? mucho appreciate everyones input...going to look at it this weekend!

Engine? Transmission? Rust? More information would probably get you more answers.

Re: here i go again

First impression = pass.

I see paint over spray on the windshield and a hole in the hood. Looks as if they are trying to cover up a lot of bad body work.

In your area, these trucks are subject to very bad rot. You can drop a crate engine in it and a rebuilt trans, but rust repair is no fun.

My .02, keep looking.

Gaaaahhhh I hate sh*tty paint jobs. And as tbone said, quickie paint jobs usually means bad bodywork, if any. And as Doc said, more engine and rust details are really needed for an appropriate appraisal and judgment.

Re: here i go again

yea i was at work on break, so the engine/tranny is a 350/350 but he said it was running but wont start now. haven't seen it in person yet, but he says there is no rot on the body. I can tell that the floors had patches "welded" in......i'm good with bodywork and paint and what not, so rust doesnt scare me. I just need a frame and cab with title to start what i want to do. asking price is $3200 b/o......the unfortunate thing up here is every truck that isn't restored already has a TON of work to do, i went and looked at one and i dont even know how the cab was still attached to the frame.
