I am using a B&M Starshifter on the TH-350/402 combo I have. Install was pretty easy. It is a cable shifter and comes with a variety of adapters for Ford, MoPar and both TH-350 and 400's. It is a rachet shifter in that you can either put it in drive and it shifts itself or you can put it into rachet mode and slam the gears manually. The only downside to this unit is the height. It sits a bit low for a shorter person. I am 6'2" and don't have any problems but my wife would need to lean quite a ways forward to grab the handle. For a few more dollars, B&M makes a truck version in the next model up (can't think of the name) that is taller. I really like mine and would do it again. Your other options are Lokar and Hurst. They make good units for our trucks. Good luck.

Lokar is the way
I went for the 67 but I have a 4L60E in mine. The 68 actually has I believe a Mustang II shifter for the turbo 350. Wootdog

most guys use B&M or Hurst shifters you can find at any good parts house or speed shop. you could custom fab a floor shifter from the junkyard but its prolly easier to use a kit

Looking at getting a B&M Unimatic myself. Looks like a standard shifter and has a great retro rat rod type look to it.

I use Lokar for all of my floor shifters. Love them, no complaints at all. I acually have one being shipped to me right now (shameless hint to another board member to ship it soon, please).

B&M Light Truck Megashifter. Has tall base so that shifter is in correct position. No complaints, fits all boxes.

Shifters
For an automatic tranny, Lokar is the way to go. Easy to install, no cable to get melted on the exhaust. IMO....they look so cool. Summit Racing carries the whole lineup of Lokar parts.
