Re: Parting this original 70 GMC 3/4 ton, starting Sunday.
From what I have read, these plastic door ferrules were only on 69-71 Blazers and Jimmy. 67-71 Trucks had nothing. 72 Trucks, Blazers and Jimmys had the metal ones.

Re: Parting this original 70 GMC 3/4 ton, starting Sunday.
Fred, here a list of some engine compartment items.
1) Carb, what number is it? 2) Carb to distributor vacuum hard line and manifold mount clip 3) Fuel pump to carb hard line, any good? 4) Carb air cleaner stud and wing nut, original? 5) Does the thermostat housing have the throttle spring tang? 6) Throttle to gas pedal actuator with end bolt 7) Are either, top of engine, plug wire retainer brackets there? 8) Driver inner fender clip that hold e-brake cable. I'll try and think of other stuff. Thanks Jim Last edited by JimH2828; 09-21-2014 at 11:28 PM. |

Also for the pedal assembly, all I've got is the bracket bolted to the fire wall and dash with the pedal and linkage removed. (Booster and mc are still bolted to the firewall) If there's any way I could just get those parts that would be good, however I do understand if your wanting to sell as an assembly. Shipping to 87455

Hey guys. Just got in from work, had a few life scenarios to deal with this evening. it is nothing serious but it did keep me from getting any parts/pics on the truck. Re: Parting this original 70 GMC 3/4 ton, starting Sunday.
Hi Fred,
Hope all is well or working itself out. I just bought a 68 C20 pickup as a material hauler. It's not a restoration project, by any means, but it does need a few things to be a better rig to drive. Here's what I could use, if you have them. Cosmetic condition is not that critical to me, unless rust or corrosion is so bad it would impact function. Driver's side door handle, (mine's missing the thumb button, I assume it's new handle time and can't be fixed with a button.) Manual pitman arm or power steering gear box and pump for 6 cyl window handle(s) good window regulators both sides decent window channel both sides accel pedal, (mine's missing, so a half way worn out one would be better) brake and clutch pads, (clutch is missing, so a half way worn out one would be better. will only replace the brake if I can find one not 3/4's worn out!) No great hurry. The only thing of any urgency is fixing the pitman. It also has some leaky wheel cylinders, so with all of them combined, it pulls right, then left, and dives in the same direction at the same time from the bad shocks, then repeats the swerving cause of the loose pitman; stopping is a bit like a carnival ride. Add in the manual brakes, and you're wondering if the ride is actually gonna stop at the end of the ride! yee haw... (I havn't found the guts to drive it on a highway, yet. Just on surface streets, to and from Home Depot for materials.) GeoD Thanks, GeoD Let me know f you got any of this stuff and how much you want for it and I'll get you some $$. ignition switch bezel Right side heater duct in dash glove box, (missing mine, so decent better than nothing rear shocks, (you should this baby bounce!) working radio that'll fit the holes, (doesn't have to be factory, just a fitter.) |

Re: Parting this original 70 GMC 3/4 ton, starting Sunday.
Fred, I am still collecting A/C parts. I would be interested in all of the inner and outer A/C stuff when you get around to it. I don't need hoses, engine brackets or the compressor, but I could use the condenser if it is good. I could fly over and get it so you won't need to pack it up. Let me know what you think.

It's not complete. Where's the shifter arm and collar?

Sorry, I thought it was a steering column. The rusty shifter lever is laying on the work bench. Arm and collar, don't guess I follow you. Thanks, Fred.

I found the collar. It's under some black tape.

Re: Parting this original 70 GMC 3/4 ton, starting Sunday.
Looks great! Just what I had in mind! the one question I have is about the linkage between the brake booster and the brake pedal. Is that part of the pedal assembly or the booster assembly?
