K30 lift

Anyone ever lift a K30 SRW, I have a 1985 and would like to go up 2-3 inches, I am using this truck around the farmland/woods and want to put more aggressive taller tires on it. What ya know? John

Re: K30 lift

pretty much the same as a 1/2 or 3/4 ton. Steering stuff lil different. If you get rear springs over blocks, they will be 56" and heavy duty. Get a 2-3" soft ride spring, steering arm spacer, and either a shackle flip or block for the rear. Should be able to fit 35s on a narrower wheel.

Re: K30 lift

yup, i would go blocks or flips in the rear, finding rear lift springs for a 1 ton aint easy, unless you go custom. my K30 is also a '85-good trucks!

Re: K30 lift

Like said finding 56 inch rear springs with a 2-3 lift has been hard. Just e-mailed Deaver to see if they could help. I'd even settle for 3/4 ton springs if I could find them in a 2-3 lift and 56" not a fan of blocks and my original springs are just to stiff.

Re: K30 lift

Looks like 4" is about all that's out there, including Deaver per their reply. Guess I will just have to get used to climbing up into the cab, maybe I could just get my legs stretched ;-)

Re: K30 lift

if your going 2-3" & want a better ride then with the springs you got, try some softer rated stock springs with a 2" shackle flip. be much cheaper than custom leaf packs. (although smooth ride & squarebody is an oxymoron)
i used ORD flips & got my springs from these guys, i went H-D though for hauling my camper

Re: K30 lift

The Dana60 gives an inch of lift, so if you put 3" springs on front you'll need 4" rear to be equal. I used Tuff Country 4" springs on my Suburban (56"). Looking at Suspension Connection's website I don't see springs specified 52" or 56". I think if you call you'll find out better what they offer in 56". Or did you already?

Re: K30 lift

Many places don't list this stuff anymore cause of the newer trucks that are out. If you call them they prolly will have it.

Max Stock Tire: 32x11.00 on 8 inch wheel
OEM Wheel Size: 16 inch

Special Notes: Real 1 Tons came with 56 inch rear springs from the factory. Some owners convert the long spring to a more common 52 inch rear spring by moving the rear spring hangers forward. The holes are usually already in the frame. These trucks came with square rear u-bolts from the factory. We run into a lot of these trucks that have been converted to round u-bolts by a previous owner. If your 1 Ton has round rear u-bolts, you will need to purchase these u-bolts separately since all of the kits contain square U-bolts. Straight axle 88-91 Crew Cabs use this kit. 88-91 3500 new body style IFS trucks use the later model kits.

Re: K30 lift

Ords shackle flip is either 2.5in or 4in or you could just buy 2in lift springs from them which or even go custom since they now make custom springs
