Re: were do i find good chaep parts
Which one do you want, cheap parts or good parts?
I prefer to buy parts from a reputable vendor, that are priced fairly. They may not be the cheapest, but they are sold by someone that knows these trucks in and out and you know there will be someone there if there is ever a problem.

Re: were do i find good chaep parts
You can usually find parts that are cheap and you usually can find parts that are good. Hardly ever do you ever find good cheap parts. They just don't make those anymore. there are quality inexpensive parts left out there from some vendors that sell here however, There is a list of Vendors at the upper left of the top of the page.

You can find good and cheap parts, if you are not in a hurry to get them. I do agree that good and cheap rarely go together though..lol

Junkyard, yes. Craigslist IF the seller really needs cash or his wife/GF/mom just wants rid of the truck.
I have gotten some great parts off of fellow members here and via people they know. I had a patch panel cut out of a truck from a guy on here and I plan to go that route when it comes time to replace my rocker panels. |

Re: were do i find good chaep parts
As for reproduction parts, I have great luck with classicparts.com and sometimes LMC, but I like classic better. Some have said the parts from LMC are junk sometimes and I know personally they are over priced sometimes!!
It pays to shop around, when I bought my repro steering wheel, I paid $279 through LMC thinking they were fair. Then after once I found out about Classic Parts, they had the same steering wheel for $199.....ouch!! Lesson learned! You always learn faster when you lose money!! LOL Original parts from the junkyard or the parts board are always best and keep your truck original but it's sometimes hard to find exactly what you want when you need it that way. Sometimes depending on what you need and what you're going for, repop is the only way.

And for certain things, like sensors, tune up parts, shocks, ujoints, heater cores ect ect....you'll be ok going through your local parts house, like NAPA, Autozone, Oreillys ect.

Re: Where do I find good cheap parts ?
start going to swapmeets on a regular basis and talking to the vendors there and also if you see a guy with a truck strike up a conversation and when you least expect it you run into the darndest things

What are you looking for?
engine/transmission/driveline? Performance? Interior? Trim? Sheetmetal? Each of these may have a different source
