Re: lowered front suspension

There is an ongoing debate in the c10 community using stock suspension what the maximum spring drop is before the alignment geometry is nonreconcilable.
You can safely use a 2" drop spring and reconcile the geometry but anything beyond that is questionable and is at your own risk.
There is a reason several companies manufacture drop spindles.

Re: lowered front suspension

so with the suspension set up I have now I could just buy 2 inch drop spindles and be able to align it? will it lower it even more?

If you still have the 3" drop springs, and install 2" drop spindles, you would have 5" drop and the same alignment problems you have now.

Did you want a 3" drop compared to what it was before, or 3" drop compared to "stock"?

If you want 3" drop compared to stock, put in a new set of standard springs and put in a set of 3" drop spindles.

If you want a 3" drop compared to what you had before, put the old springs back in and put in 3" drop spindles.

Re: lowered front suspension

Mechanical man laid it all out perfectly, just have to math it up.

I'm used to seeing the 2.5" spindles, so I put those and a 1" spring on mine for 3.5".

Re: lowered front suspension

The drop spindle does nothing to the geometry of the suspension... It only physically moves the spindle up 2.5". The 1" drop sping changes the geometry...so with only a 1" drop spring up front you're OK running a stock shock.
